Hey everyone! As promised, I’m working my way through all of my more recent YouTube tutorials, playing a bit of catch-up here on the blog to get everything updated with a written pattern.
I really really liked this tutorial a ton – it’s for a soot sprite! This one uses a slicker brush for a fuzzier, more puffball-esque look on the body – and if you don’t attach the star beads, it’s actually a no-sew pattern (rather than low-sew).
YouTube Pattern Video
Below you’ll find the pattern video. I’ve very recently started using YouTube’s “Chapters” feature to sort each individual instruction (rounds, sewing, sections, etc.) into a time stamped section. You should be able to see the chapters in the timeline/seek bar of the video below, but if you click over to YouTube, you’ll be able to pull the chapters up and move more easily between them:

As always, with the pattern write-up here on my blog, the written instructions are “bare bones” – they’re designed to work hand-in-hand with the video tutorial. With the addition of the chapters feature, it’s even easier to navigate the pattern. For example, if you’re struggling with Rnd 3 of the body, you can click directly on the chapter “Rnd 3” and crochet it along with me.

Stuff soot sprite body here. If using just safety eyes, attach them here, too.
Rnd 12: dec x 6 (6)
Cut a 12 inch tail and use it to cinch last round closed. We’ll use this tail to sew the star beads to the soot sprite’s head later, so don’t weave in.
Using slicker brush, give this man the worst hair day of his life.
Once hair has been brushed, attach felt eyes here with hot glue. Then, sew black tail up to where you want the star beads to be. Use it to attach the beads to the soot sprite’s head.
Done!

As always, thanks for tuning in. If you haven’t already checked out my YouTube page, I’d be forever grateful if you’d consider subscribing or watching my other tutorial videos. I try to post twice a month with a new tutorial, and I’d like to begin polling my subscribers to see what kinds of tutorial videos they’d like to see!
